Underhand Chop

Underhand Chop
Amanda Beams, holds the Australian & world records from the Australian Women’s Championship 2022 in Adelaide, in a time of 31 seconds.

The underhand chop technique was used to cut a felled tree down to size. Standing on a horizontal log, the athletes cut with an axe through a 30cm log of wood. Nerves of steel are needed as the axe impacts just centimetres from the athletes’ feet.
