From the 7th until the 11th of April, 2025 , under the visionary leadership of Ajitha Sugnanam (AJ), Esesson’s team of volunteers returned from Papua New Guinea after one of the most impactful health and humanitarian missions ever undertaken in the region.
In just 5 days, a multidisciplinary team delivered:
• 2,415 dental procedures
• 619 medical consultations/procedures
= A total of 3,034 conditions addressed
The estimated value of the treatment provided equated to $910,000 AUD (2.3 million PGK) all delivered to underserved communities at no cost.
This extraordinary effort was powered by 21 Australian healthcare professionals and a group of committed local volunteers, working more than 14 hours a day in difficult conditions to serve the people of PNG with compassion, expertise, and love.
