First country to ban the sale of incandescent lights

Australia led a global revolution in banning the sale of incandescent light bulbs in favour of more energy-efficient lighting.

The phasing out of old-fashioned bulbs made Australia the first country in the world to embrace energy-efficient globes.

According to environmental group Planet Ark, the move significantly cut greenhouse emissions.
