The world's largest crocodile in captivity

On the 19th of March, 2013, Cassius a male saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus), was weighed and measured as the world's largest crocodile in captivity.

Cassius measures 5.48m in length and weighs around 998kg.

It is believed Cassius is over 110 years old.  His home is Green Island's Marineland Melanesia in Queensland since 1987, when he was relocated from the Northern Territory.
