The black swan and the quokka are only native to Australia.
Black swans are found throughout Australia excluding Cape York Peninsula, being seen more in the south.
The Noongar people of southwest Australia have co-inhabited with the black swan for tens of thousands of years, and it features in a number of Dreamtime traditions.
The Quokka often called ‘the happiest animal in the world’ can be seen on Rottnest Island, off the coast of WA near Perth. They also inhabit Bald Island, near Albany and if your luck is in you may spot one in the forests between Nannup and Denmark.
