In Australia, not all assistance animals are dogs. Assistance Cat Peppy from the Assistance Paws Australia team, became the first non-canine Assistance Animal to fly in the cabin with his human on the 9th of March 2023.
Australians with disabilities may take their assistance animals wherever they go, but Airline Travel requires individual application and approval with each airline to show that the animal is safe to fly.
