Whittlesea community in Victoria have set an amazing record, in recognition of International Day of People with a Disability.
Whittlesea Police organised the event to enhance relationships within the disability community sector and to continue to establish new relationships within the community and surrounding areas.
Disability services, schools, child care and disability advocate services were involved.
The measuring of the paper chains took some time, as each chain made by one community group needed to be completely linked with the next, so lots of taping and stapling was required.
The final chain result came in at 4.93 kilometres long. An incredible feat!
