On Tuesday the 27th of January, 2026, at Coburg Leisure Centre, Victoria, over 60's multiple record breaker Mark O'Connor, completed a 50.2kg Dead Hang, recording a remarkable time of 61.19 seconds.
Mark weighs 68.7kg and combined with the 50.2kg weight managed to hold 118.9kg for over one minute, with an outstanding effort.
Coburg Leisure Centre staff members Mary Trachevski, Mitch Burton and Jemma Carbis witnessed the record attempt, the weighing of the weights and filming of the attempt, ensuring Mark strictly adhered to the dead hang rules and regulations.
After achieving the 50.2kgs for 60 seconds, Mark then attempted the dead hang with a weight of 60kgs and lasted a remarkable 54 seconds.
