70.8 kg additional weight dead hang world record (over 60s)

On Wednesday, 5th August 2026, starting at 11am, 61 year old Mark O’Connor successfully completed a 70.8 kg additional weight dead hang for 60.70 seconds at Coburg Leisure Centre, Bell Street, Coburg, Melbourne, Victoria, establishing a World Record in the Over 60s category.

Under observation, Mark completed the weighted dead hang with technically correct form for the full 60.70 seconds.

Imagine Mark, whose body weight was exactly 70.0 kg, holding an additional 70.8 kg, a total supported weight of 140.8 kg - for over one minute at 61 years of age. It is an extraordinary display of grip strength, endurance and determination, and an achievement rarely seen at any age.

Congratulations Mark on your outstanding training, your record and unbelievable mindset in setting this world best target.

Well done.
